Sailor Moon Update {new anime, manga box set and tattoos}

To be honest, I have been avoiding posting *too much* Sailor Moon on this blog.  But I have been getting a lot of hits lately looking for new information and believe me.. this is information to know if you are a fan.

To cut right to the good stuff, it was announced in July that Naoko and Kodanshi Comics are already working on a serialized anime of Sailor Moon, to be released Summer 2013.  No more information has been released, but it has been confirmed that it is NOT simply a film project.  Will this be a complete re-boot, or a strange continuation?  (Personally, I am hoping and somewhat expecting a re-boot)

But, the news was made by Momoiro Clover Z, who sang the original Sailor Moon theme song, during a live event that was celebrating the manga’s 20th anniversary.  Also intriguing is that the original voice actors for Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask were present.  Either way, I can’t wait!  (for more information check out this news article)

Also, just in time for Christmas, Kodansha is releasing the first six manga in a simple box set.  I am desperately behind in my Sailor Moon manga, but I already have the first three so I just can’t justify it (but it’s on sale for $49.46!). Currently, its only available for pre-order on Rightstuff.com

Tattoo Ideas: Sailor Moon pt.2

Although it might take some searching, there are actually a lot of Sailor Moon inspired tattoos out there.
Currently, I am watching Sailor Stars, and I just finished the Super S arc in the Manga. After looking at a lot of Naoko Takeuchi’s coloured drawings, I am kind of falling in love with the style the Manga offers. (I have always loved tattoos that have comic black borders, but have never had any ideas that fit with it.. so maybe this will work?)
Actually, the more I think about Sailor Moon tattoos, the more I want more than one. :(

Anyways, most of you don’t care about what I’m thinking about for tattoos, you just want to see the tattoos.

Its hard to tell if the picture just isn’t clear or the tattoo is not very detailed. I don’t think I would pick this wand though, although very recognizable.

Tattoo ideas: Sailor Moon

Anyone who knows me, or has known me since I was a kid, knows that I love Sailor Moon. I am currently working my way through the entire series (Japanese with English subs) and the manga.
The fact that I want a Sailor Moon tattoo is only natural to my being. I lived and breathed Sailor Moon as a kid, and with re-watching the series, I have a new appreciation for the show. There was a lot of themes and ideas that I simply never got when I was younger, and I certainly never really appreciated the animation. Not to mention the fact that the uncensored Japanese episodes are a million times better than the DIC dubs.

So I have been looking up Sailor Moon tattoos that other people have. I would never steal someone else’s tattoo and put it on myself, but I always like to see what other people are doing regardless. Most of the time I just learn what not to do.

My initial thought for tattoos was get one of Sailor Moon’s transformation brooches (or I guess you know Chibi-usa). My only problem with this is that I have no idea where to put a tattoo like this. I already have a chest piece, which is the first logical place to put it. Although I was considering putting it under my chest piece, and therefore right in between my tits. But I want to be able to show it off a bit.. so that rules that idea out. I was also considering one of her wands, like maybe the one from SuperS? Then I could get it on my leg or something. These four tattoos I think look pretty good, about the size I would consider for a brooch tattoo.
